Face Masks to be worn in salon from Saturday 8th August 2020.

Facemask Sign

As announced by the government Hair Salons, Barbers and Beauty Salons have been added to the list of public places where a face mask or face covering is to be worn. Therefore, from Saturday 8th August 2020 anyone visiting the salon must wear a face mask please.

I know this isn’t news some of you will be pleased about as there are many people that simply don’t feel comfortable wearing a mask in salon mainly due to getting too warm what with the hairdryers on and the amount of protective layers you wear when having a colour service. We will do everything we can to ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests and staff. We are fully air conditioned so can reduce the temperature in salon on hot days, we will open the door for ventilation purposes as often as we can too.

*What kind of mask do I need to wear?

We recommend a disposable mask if you are having a colour service as it will get colour stained. If you prefer to wear a fabric face covering then please do so , however, we can not be held responsible for the damage of any fabric face coverings.

*Forgotten your mask

Don’t panic you can purchase a disposable face mask from us for £1.00

*Who is exempt from wearing a mask?

  • Young children under the age of 11
  • Anyone not being able to put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness, impairment or disability
  • If you are chaperoning another person to provide assistance to someone who relies on lip reading to communicate
  • To eat or drink if reasonably necessary
  • In order to take medication
  • If a police officer or other official requests you to remove your face covering
  • For identification purposes

We may ask you to remove your mask when we are cutting your hair if we feel it is in the way and we can not carry out a good hair cut with it on, this wouldn’t be for long, for example, when cutting hair around the ears.

Face masks are not a replacement for social distancing or hand washing. So please continue to use the hand sanitiser on entering and leaving the salon. Our staff are not required to wear a mask as they wear visors at all times whilst on the business premises.

Wearing a face mask may not be by choice however we must all play our part in fighting against this horrible virus .

We thank you for your co-operation on this new ruling and very much look forward to seeing you in salon again soon.
